The rediscovery of Edelweiss – a vision begins

In 2011, during a hike in the Alps, Barbara and Jörg Tinnacher encountered the extraordinary power of edelweiss. This moment marked the beginning of a vision: to transform one of nature’s most resilient plants into the foundation of innovative, longevity-driven solutions.

Once endangered in the 19th century due to overexploitation, edelweiss has been strictly protected in Austria since 1886. From the very beginning, it was clear that controlled organic cultivation would be the only way to unlock its potential sustainably while preserving this unique alpine resource.

The goal was ambitious: to develop high-performance skincare based on the complex spectrum of over 100 bioactive compounds found in edelweiss. Together with a network of experts, partners, and companions, the first milestone was achieved – the creation of the siin Edition Edelweiss.

The name “siin” was deliberately chosen: simple, memorable, and globally accessible – a brand designed to inspire.

What began as an idea in the Austrian Alps quickly evolved into a clear mission:
to establish edelweiss as a modern longevity ingredient and enable its sustainable renaissance as a valuable medicinal and skincare plant.

From inspiration to innovation – a continuously evolving portfolio

The encounter with edelweiss was not just a starting point – it remains the guiding force behind all developments at siin.

Building on the success of siin Edition Edelweiss, the next major step followed in 2015 with “Sisi and Joe” – a brand inspired by Austrian heritage that successfully entered drugstores across Austria and Germany.

In 2022, the portfolio expanded with “Only What’s Good” – a consistent evolution towards 100% certified natural cosmetics, developed specifically for sensitive skin and based exclusively on ingredients from organic cultivation. The involvement of the next generation, including Flora Tinnacher, further strengthened the brand’s commitment to authenticity, purity, and future-oriented thinking.

The innovation journey continued with the development of scientifically based nutrient solutions in collaboration with leading experts in Graz – marking the expansion from external care to holistic, inside-out longevity concepts.

Today, siin stands for a continuously evolving system of brands and solutions – all driven by one clear principle:
to transform the power of nature into sustainable, high-performance products for long-term health and beauty.
